Management Team

Gary Yentin

Gary Yentin (gary@ciphermedia.com).

Gary Yentin is a senior mobile executive, with over fifteen years of experience managing strategy sales, marketing, operations, and technology for established entertainment, new media and technology companies. For the last six years Gary has focused on mobile technologies, including content development and distribution having worked for m-Qube (now Verisign) in the capacity of Vice-President, where is helped launch Virgin Mobile Canada and succeeded in developing m-Qube’s mobile storefront consumer practice. Recently, Gary help build out the mobile advertising platform/ecosystem for Sympatico; Canada’s number one mobile advertising network. In addition, Gary has help build out the mobile sites for CTV, CBC, Canwest and TMZ (North America’s No. 1 Entertainment/Gossip Site)

Laurie Cutts

Laurie is a results driven leader with extensive experience in identifying business opportunities and leading teams to execute marketing strategies that garnered significant increases in brand awareness and sales for wireless, new media and technology companies. Examples include: AOL, American Greetings, Admob, MLB, Barnes & Noble, Rogers Wireless, Sprint, Procter & Gamble, JumpTap and many more. Laurie led the marketing team at m-Qube (now Verisign) where she launched the company and established it’s positioning in the market as the leading mobile aggregator. Prior to m-Qube, Laurie managed ecommerce products and services for Lycos and AOL. Prior to AOL, Laurie was responsible for successfully launching MCI’s first consumer Internet access product.

Robert Rubenstein

Robert Rubenstein (robert@ciphermedia.com)

Robert a Partner in Cipher Research. His fundamental belief is that the key to effective business decisions is insight into the market situation and the predictive power of that insight.

Robert developed his skills as a marketing researcher at such companies as Molson Breweries, Abbott Laboratories and TD Financial Group, in each case leading their Marketing Research Groups. He has worked as a Strategic Planner at Maclaren – McCann and most recently as a Marketing Research Consultant covering a wide range of products, services and industries.

Robert has developed a base of consumer research techniques that go well beyond the standard. The goal of the research is not simply to present research data, but to provide consumer insight that leads to actionable implications for marketing programs.

Robert has Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration degrees from McGill University. He is a member of the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association and a Certified Marketing Research Professional (CMRP).

Patrick Walshe

Patrick is a Partner in Cipher Research. Patrick has built a distinguished career helping clients understand change and using it to their advantage. He has provided committed, innovative leadership in brand response and digital media – disciplines which share a common commitment to delivering demonstrable return on investment.

As a founding member of AIMS (Association of Internet Marketing and Sales) and a director of the IABC (Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada), Patrick has a long history as a first mover in digital media in Canada. He carries the same passion for new media into the fast and emerging mobile channel.
